E l’aria creò il suono
“E l’aria creò il suono” (“and from air, sound was born”) is a duo project bringing together Marco Santilli (clarinets, compositions) and Roberto Olzer (pipe organ).
The repertoire explores the meeting point of classical music, jazz, progressive rock, world music, and minimalism, shaping an expressive soundscape with generous space for improvisation. The music unfolds as a continuous dialogue — sometimes contemplative and introspective, sometimes luminous and expansive.
At the heart of the project lies the physical nature of sound itself:
the breath of the clarinet meets the wind of the organ bellows, creating an intimate interplay of air, resonance, and silence. Ancient and modern elements merge, allowing contrasting colours and dynamics to coexist naturally.
“E l’aria creò il suono” is not about stylistic boundaries, but about listening, breathing, and shaping sound together — letting music emerge organically, moment by moment.
