Orgelwind

Clarinet and organ – a dialogue of air, resonance, and imagination

Orgelwind is not your typical duo. Clarinetist-composer Marco Santilli and organist-composer Ivan Tibolla explore the rare and evocative combination of clarinet (and bass/alto clarinet) with pipe organ – and in doing so, open a new sonic dimension.

Drawing from their own compositions and original arrangements, the duo creates music that blends Mediterranean lyricism, jazz sensibilities, folk inflections, and the grandeur of the classical organ tradition. Their album features music ranging from sultry milongas and playful waltzes to minimalist meditations and Baroque echoes – with works by Monteverdi, Philip Glass, Luciani, and two striking traditional pieces woven in.

“Never did I run across a CD for clarinet and organ. So kudos to Santilli and Tibolla for originality… They have cobbled together a stunning recording that is both deep enough to warrant focused listening and light enough to serve as background music for a soirée.”

From the poetic Musik des Einsamen for alto clarinet to the cinematic textures of Milonga and the neo-Renaissance charm of Chanson Balladee, every piece adds a new color to the duo’s wide-ranging palette. The improvisational spirit is never far: jazz phrasing meets organ counterpoint, and folk melodies unfold like whispered stories.

Orgelwind is a musical space where genres dissolve, and two musicians breathe together — turning wind into wonder.
